To add a 5th - Make every word count. There is way too much fluff in most emails that are getting sent out. Often times, you can shorten the email significantly by taking out all unnecessary words. That combined with "writing like you talk" helps to more succinctly convey your thoughts and grab the readers attention. One of my favorite posts that I send to anyone new in sales is "Write Like You Talk" by Paul Graham. " He talks about this simple trick to getting more people to read what you write.

Great point! I always think about Paul's "write like you talk" and the notion that we should "write for 5th grade readers."

Combining both #3 and #4 the CEO/Founder should be given top 10 contacts that are actively viewing and clicking links in email to do personalized outreach. Team sport mentality and the response rate to a CEO/Founder's personal touch is worth the time investment.

Team sport mentality - love that point. The silos in go-to-market certainly are breaking down and it's becoming an entire team sport, from IC to CEO.
